Land work built our business. Neighbors built our community. The Helping Others Foundation is how we give back.
At Fresh Start Land Services LLC, we’ve spent years clearing lots, hauling debris, and helping South Central Indiana property owners get a fresh start. Along the way, we kept meeting elderly homeowners and community members who needed help but couldn’t always afford it. So we started something to change that.
The Helping Others Foundation connects generous sponsors with elderly neighbors and community members who are going through a rough stretch — covering the cost of land clearing, cleanup, repairs, and other property services when they need it most.
Why We Started This
Because a Fresh Start Shouldn’t Depend on What You Can Afford
Every day, we work on properties across Paragon, Martinsville, Mooresville, Bloomington, Spencer, Gosport, Nashville, and Ellettsville. Along the way we’ve met a lot of people — elderly homeowners who can’t keep up with an overgrown yard, folks who lost a job, families dealing with a medical crisis, neighbors just having a hard season of life.
Property work isn’t cheap. But letting a property go unattended isn’t good for anyone — it isn’t safe, it isn’t healthy, and it isn’t the kind of community we want to build.
That’s the whole idea behind the Helping Others Foundation: pay it forward, one property at a time.
Who We Help
Support for Elderly Homeowners and Neighbors in Need
The Helping Others Foundation exists for people in our service area who need land clearing, brush removal, cleanup, grading, or repair work done — but are facing a rough patch that makes it hard to pay for it. That includes:
- Elderly homeowners on fixed incomes who can no longer maintain their property alone
- Community members facing hardship — job loss, illness, disability, or unexpected life events
- Neighbors recovering from storm damage, fallen trees, or unsafe overgrowth
- Families going through a difficult season who just need someone to help carry the load
If that’s you, or someone you know, we want to hear from you.

How Sponsors Help
Become a Sponsor — Fund a Fresh Start for Someone Who Needs It
Sponsorships are what make the Helping Others Foundation possible. When you sponsor a project, your contribution goes directly toward the cost of land clearing, brush removal, debris hauling, or repair work for an elderly homeowner or community member facing hardship.
Sponsors can give at any level:
- One-time gifts toward a specific project
- Recurring monthly support to fund ongoing assistance
- In-kind sponsorships — equipment time, materials, or labor
- Business sponsorships — local businesses can partner with us to sponsor a project in their name
Every dollar given stays local, going toward real work for real neighbors in South Central Indiana.

How It Works
01. Someone Requests Help
An elderly homeowner or community member facing hardship reaches out and shares what their property needs.
02. We Review the Need
Our team looks at the project and confirms the scope of work — clearing, hauling, grading, or repair.
03. Sponsors Fund the Work
Sponsor contributions cover the cost, in full or in part, so the homeowner doesn’t have to carry the burden alone.
04. Fresh Start Gets to Work
Our crew shows up and does the job right — the same quality and care we bring to every property we touch.
